Well my time with the company of 'Henceforward...' has flown by and we're now at our final venue, Cambridge Arts Theatre. The show has had a great response and I've loved being part of such a talented, friendly group of people. Massive thanks to Alan Ayckbourn and all at the Stephen Joseph Theatre for having me on board!
However I am delighted to say that the busy time will continue, as next week I will be going into rehearsals for new writing piece 'The Storm Officer', an actor-musician two-hander based on testimonials from the extreme weather database at Nottingham University. Written by Matt Black and directed by Martin Berry, the show will perform at Lakeside Arts in Nottingham and at the Kirkgate Theatre in Cumbria in March 2017.
How do storms and extreme weather events affect us? Reflective, funny and poignant, The Storm Officer invites you on a tumultuous and colourful journey, with wild scenes and original music. Featuring real-life accounts of Storm Desmond together with tales of flooding, hurricanes and storms from the last thousand years.
This new theatrical production from acclaimed writer Matt Black was inspired and commissioned by the Spaces of Experience and Horizons of Expectation project, which led to the TEMPEST database of extreme weather in the UK.
Created in association with Lakeside Arts, Kirkgate Arts, Arts Out West, Live and Local and supported by Arts Council England.
