In September 2010 I was asked to step in last-minute and assist on the recording of a radio version of 'Alice's Adventures in the New World', a new play by Sarah Sigal which had been commissioned by all-female theatre company Fluff Productions. The play had already premiered at the Old Red Lion in London earlier in the year, but when one of the original cast was unavailable last-minute for the recording, I was asked to assist.
I played a whole range of roles both male and female in this Victorian Music Hall-inspired comedy drama, including an over-dramatic young actor, a superstitious Irish priest giving an exorcism, an American lady socialite and the playwright Oscar Wilde! Below is an extract of the recording, where I play the young actor, George, giving a private performance for his long-suffering younger sister, Alice.
